Broccoli and Chicken Braid: a pinterest inspired dinner part 1

A friend asked me, "So, what happened to last week's blog?"

fabric, diy snaps, and snap tool
It failed. Simple as that. By now it is quite apparent that
I don't like posting the failures. That doesn't mean that I won't try again and I still have to figure out what to do with the fabric...bet that got somebody's attention.

What did I attempt? Another round for the pinterest chronicles: the Bina multi-purpose wrap. I think my gray knit will become a skirt. Or a shirt. Or a pillow...anybody else see where I'm going with this?

For tonight there is the pleasure of a double post. This one and the one that follows, although posting makes things backwards. (After writing note: I wrote them both on my kindle, posted them in edit mode in the blogger, and posted them once I had the photos downloaded onto my laptop. I decided to post them in reverse order.)
Mom and Dad had seconds!

Pinterest, it's what's for dinner.

Just kidding. The broccoli and chicken braid is what's for dinner (with a side salad and pinterest potatoes). I guess you can say that tonight's meal has been brought to you by that highly addictive site. I find myself scanning it for hours when I am not subbing.

BTW, nothing turned out like it's Pinterest photo.

So....Broccoli and Chicken Braid

Needed:

1 package steamed broccoli
1 or 2 boneless chicken breasts (2 cups worth - I didn't measure)
2 cans crescent rolls
3 cups mild cheddar cheese (I used 2)
1 stick butter (half a cup)
1 egg

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven 375 (350 for cookie sheets  that stick or are dark)
2. Cook chopped broccoli (according to package, steamed) and chicken (separately)

See! Still pink!

3. Go ahead and put the cheese and room temperature butter in a mixing bowl.
4. Drain broccoli
5. Chop cooked chicken (I had to cook partially and finish cooking after chopping.)

6. Mix chicken, broccoli, cheese, and butter

7. Roll out crescent rolls (either as one or make two. I could not fit one large braid on my cookie sheet.)
8. Put mixture on the middle of the crescent rolls. Not too thick or the braid won't meet in the middle. That was my issue.

(That runny yellow stuff is the butter.)
9. Cut a strip every half an inch. Fold over alternating left and right (or right and left)

10. Beat egg and brush the now made egg wash on top.

11. Finally bake for 30-35 minutes, remove, and enjoy.

(That burnt brown stuff is the butter!)
