In the Land of Cupcakes, part 1

Sometimes my Beta eaters hate to hear that I'm experimenting again.  Why?  Why would you hate to know that your lovely, wonderful, amazing, and talented friend is experimenting in baking again?  After all, it means free cupcakes!  Alas, that is the problem, free cupcakes during swimsuit season.  At least I suspect that is how Jackie and Megan feel.  So I tend to limit myself to an experiment every two weeks and I have enough Beta eaters to spread things around so that everybody, except Bobby, gets one or two of the current experiment.  Experiment #5 (I think, I'm not certain) was Oreo cupcakes. Aren't they beautiful? (Sorry for the fuzzy spot on the upper left corner of the picture, the protective glass covering the camera on my phone is cracked, clumsy me.) Unexpected Discoveries - Homemade Things from Fruit

This weekend I went to a birthday party for a two year old.  His mother, one of my oldest friends - Shelia - has a little bit of a creative thumb.  Now, if you are handy with a knife you might want to take note.  The Theme: Luau Item #1 This might look like an ordinary pineapple...but you know I wouldn't be blogging about it if it was only an ordinary pineapple.  That's because inside this pineapple is a jar of dip.  It's simple.  Get a pineapple.  Cut off part of the pineapple leaving the leaves and about an inch, an inch and a half of pineapple.  And remove the insides.  Don't be wasteful.  Use the pineapple.  It's really good raw or grilled or in a fruit salad. Crafting with Books

I was scanning the Etsy discussion board while waiting for my photos to transfer over to my google drive when I saw a post from years ago that somebody had unearthed. It was about destroying books to make items. We all know that I have been making book page necklaces. If you don't know that, go scan my Etsy shop (Shopify has been taken down for... reasons...). You will see book page necklace after book page charm bracelet after book page necklace. Lots and lots of book themed pieces. If you follow my instagram you will know that it's a combination of old and new books. I cringe every single time I use a new book to make jewelry. I cringe and my book loving heart stops as I tearfully scan the pages looking for the word or name I'm looking for. The right scene. The right place. I prefer using old copies.
