A friend asked me, "So, what happened to last week's blog?"  fabric, diy snaps, and snap tool It failed. Simple as that. By now it is quite apparent that I don't like posting the failures. That doesn't mean that I won't try again and I still have to figure out what to do with the fabric...bet that got somebody's attention.   What did I attempt? Another round for the pinterest chronicles: the Bina multi-purpose wrap. I think my gray knit will become a skirt. Or a shirt. Or a pillow...anybody else see where I'm going with this? Unexpected Discoveries - Homemade Things from Fruit

This weekend I went to a birthday party for a two year old.  His mother, one of my oldest friends - Shelia - has a little bit of a creative thumb.  Now, if you are handy with a knife you might want to take note.  The Theme: Luau Item #1 This might look like an ordinary pineapple...but you know I wouldn't be blogging about it if it was only an ordinary pineapple.  That's because inside this pineapple is a jar of dip.  It's simple.  Get a pineapple.  Cut off part of the pineapple leaving the leaves and about an inch, an inch and a half of pineapple.  And remove the insides.  Don't be wasteful.  Use the pineapple.  It's really good raw or grilled or in a fruit salad. Mini Mixed Berry Scones

Scones I love scones! Scones scones scones There are just so many types to try. Cheesy. Fruity. Cinnamon and sugar. And the abundance of recipes that can be found online! On Pinterest! So I went fruity scone hunting and found the perfect recipe.  It isn't dry. You can find the original recipe here ->  http://www.averiecooks.com/2014/04/the-best-glazed-mixed-berry-scones.html I did make three adjustments: self-rising flour instead of plain, cinnamon and dried fruit. Why? 1. Self-rising flour already contains salt and baking powder. 2. Cinnamon adds an additional flavor note to the dough. 3. I've used frozen berries and as soon as I started working with it the berries thawed and the juice stained the dough.  I had purple scones.
